ABOUT TERRI
Terri Givens has been a visionary leader since early in her career in higher education. Her main goal is to improve access and opportunities for students through the effective use of educational technology. She is an accomplished speaker and uses her platform to develop leaders with an understanding of the importance of diversity and encourages personal growth through empathy.

Terri has gone from class president, to team captain, to academic leader. In this talk she explains how her ability to understand others’ perspectives led her to being tapped as a leader throughout her life and how listeners can find their own path to leadership and become champions for inclusiveness.

As a columnist for Inside Higher Ed and many other publications, Terri has been providing advice to academic leaders on everything from innovation, consolidation to work/life balance. Along with her work on Radical Empathy, Terri has worked with groups on a variety of topics including women in leadership, the transition from high school to college and student success.
IMMIGRATION & RACE
Terri has been researching and writing about the impact of immigration and race on political systems in the U.S. and Europe for over 20 years. She provides listeners with an understanding of the importance of inclusiveness to our democratic system.
